Handy Butler is expanding its commercial services division and is seeking a highly motivated Business Development Manager (BDM) to establish and grow relationships with national facility management companies, national property management firms, and commercial property operators.

This role is ideal for someone who understands the commercial maintenance industry and has experience building partnerships with organizations responsible for managing multiple commercial locations such as retail stores, offices, medical clinics, restaurants, and commercial facilities.

Your Role as Business Development Manager

The Commercial BDM is responsible for building relationships with national facility management companies and property management companies that manage commercial locations. The role focuses on establishing long-term service partnerships and introducing Handy Butler as a reliable local provider for commercial handyman services.

Commission is earned once the partnership generates service work and the projects are successfully completed.

Key Responsibilities

• Identify and establish relationships with national facility management companies
• Develop partnerships with national and regional property management companies
• Promote Handy Butler commercial handyman and maintenance services
• Present Handy Butler as a trusted local service provider for commercial locations
• Build long-term partnerships with organizations managing multi-location commercial portfolios
• Generate and submit commercial service opportunities to the office
• Represent Handy Butler professionally during meetings, networking events, and industry outreach

Business Development Activities

• Building relationships with facility managers and operations managers
• Networking with property management companies
• Engaging national vendors seeking local service providers
• Attending industry networking opportunities
• Promoting Handy Butler through professional outreach and relationship development

Important: All outreach must comply with professional and legal marketing practices including Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).

Candidate Requirements

• Experience in business development, sales, or commercial account management
• Strong understanding of the commercial property or facility management industry
• Ability to build professional relationships with corporate clients
• Excellent communication and networking skills
• Self-motivated and results-driven mindset
• Professional representation and strong negotiation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working with facility management companies
• Existing network within commercial property management or retail operations
• Knowledge of commercial maintenance or building operations
• Background in construction, property management, or commercial services

Compensation

This position is 100% commission-based. Commission is paid after the successful completion of projects generated through the partnerships established by the BDM. There is no income cap for strong performers capable of building long-term commercial relationships.
