Handy Butler Co. Inc. is expanding and seeking a motivated Business Development Manager (BDM) to help grow our residential renovation and handyman services across Ottawa and surrounding communities.

Your Role as Business Development Manager

The BDM is responsible for generating and submitting qualified residential leads to our office. Once the lead converts into a project and the job is successfully completed, commission is paid based on the value of the project.

Key Responsibilities

• Generate new leads for residential renovation and handyman services
• Promote Handy Butler Co. Inc. services to homeowners
• Introduce and promote the HandyPoints Loyalty Program
• Build referral relationships with homeowners, real estate professionals, and investors
• Promote services through legal marketing channels including social media, referrals, and local networking
• Submit qualified leads to the office for project follow-up
• Represent the Handy Butler brand professionally

Approved Lead Generation Methods

• Social media promotion
• Community networking and events
• Referral marketing
• Local partnerships
• Offline marketing initiatives

Strictly prohibited:

• Spam messaging
• Unsolicited bulk marketing
• Any marketing that violates Canadian Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL)

Candidate Requirements

• Knowledge of the residential renovation industry
• Understanding of kitchen, bathroom, deck, and interior renovations
• Familiarity with handyman services and home maintenance
• Experience in sales, networking, or business development
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills
• Self-motivated and results-driven personality
• Ability to generate leads independently

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in construction or home renovation
• Existing network in the Ottawa residential market
• Experience with lead generation or marketing
• Knowledge of social media marketing strategies

Compensation

This position is 100% commission-based. Commission is paid after the successful completion of the project generated by the BDM’s lead. There is no income cap for strong performers.
